With nearly 50 years in communications, media and human resources, Colene Elridge, Debra Locker and Jason Parmer train hundreds of executives each year. This talented trio focuses on:
- Hands-on training on how to be confident in all media and presentation situations, including on-camera.
- Tips and tricks on how to make a meaningful connection with an audience.
- Getting past “imposter syndrome” by knowing the benefits of what you uniquely bring to the conversation.
- Black, white, or stripes? Dos and Don’ts of looking professional on-camera.
- The six types of media, how to get their attention and how to make them trust you.
This is serious business and yes, you will be on-camera (twice, in fact). You will also have a memorable day filled with honest conversations, hands-on training and lots of laughter.

Agenda:
10 a.m.- noon – Pre-interviews scheduled in advance. If you are nervous, we suggest coming at 10 a.m.. The later you come, more people will be in the venue.
Noon – 2 p.m. – working lunch (lunch is provided) and presentation: “Beating the Imposter Syndrome: You are Legit”. Do you feel like an imposter when someone calls you an expert? The fear of not being legit happens to all of us at one time or another. Colene will lead you through the steps to gain the confidence to change the self-doubting voice in your head. You will leave with tools to show your expertise, without bullying or sounding boastful, when talking with journalists, being on-stage and leading a team.
2 – 2:15 p.m. – 15-minute break and snacks
2:15 – 4:15 p.m. – “Telling your Story, Acing Interviews and Making Real Connections” Together and individually, Debra and Jason have media-trained more than 200 leaders on how to confidently tell their story on-camera. This lively session will include clips, dos & don’ts, interactive discussion and tools that can be immediately implemented into helping you feel your best in interview situations and daily conversations.
4:15 – 4:30 p.m. – 15-minute break and snacks
4:30 – 5:30 p.m. – Post-interviews conducted in front of group. Anonymous feedback forms will be given to everyone.
5:45 p.m. – wrap and champagne!

Internationally known Life & Success Coach Colene Elridge has made it her job to help ordinary women live extraordinary lives, through coaching, workshops, and programming. She has worked with people from all over the world to engage them to pursue their dreams and make them a reality.
After more than a decade in a Human Resources career, Colene began coaching after recognizing empowering individuals to live their best lives was truly her calling. As a result, she opened Be More Consulting. Through her agency, Colene works with organizations on employee and leadership development. She also founded CoachColene.com, a company that focuses on personal development, empowerment and motivation.
Based in Georgetown, Colene has been featured in local and national print, digital and television media. In her free time, she LOVES yoga, movies, and spending time with her “superhero” nephews! Her most favorite thing in the world to do is to laugh!
Emmy-nominated Producer and Entrepreneur Debra Locker is a consummate communications professional. For more than two decades, she has successfully held positions in public relations and journalism, both in front of and behind the camera.
Based in Louisville, Debra owns Locker Public Relations, which is a boutique agency that focuses on representing entrepreneurs and brands that have a story to tell. Debra’s clients are covered by notable outlets including The “TODAY” Show, “The Doctors”, The New York Times, Marie Claire and Huffington Post. Debra appears on-air on behalf of some of her clients and is a former television producer and reporter. She began her TV career at WKYT in Lexington and also worked locally for Host Communications.
Debra loves to travel, do Barre workouts and spend time with her 9-year-old son. She is also the mom to two dogs – Great Pyrenees – which equal more than 180 lbs of canine!
Emmy-nominated Director Jason Parmer has been producing award-winning multimedia productions for more than a decade. Jason’s owns Dapper Agency, which is based in Wilmore. Jason and Debra created two shows that aired on PBS nationally – The Journey into Wellbeing and backSTORY – and have a third show in the works.
Jason has worked on the broadcast of two International Olympic Games and the feature film Seabiscuit and is proud to call UK and Transylvania University current clients. Jason believes in deep partnerships with organizations that make a difference. This has led to work with many clients in the health and wellness industries, education and non-profit sectors.
When he’s not behind a camera, Jason is usually found running a 5K, playing piano, entertaining his rescue Golden, Cheddar or underwater in the ocean!
